When people come over to visit us they always notice that we have a ton of toys. We always say “We buy toys we like to play with too.”
The reason is, it is so much more fun to play with the kids when it is toys we all like to play with. We really like to buy them fisher price little people. There are a ton of them, but we love to play with them with the boys. They like to stand them all up and knock them over, identify the animals, name the people, etc. This teaches them colors, the animals, and other identification qualities.
We even use them to teach. By playing the who is game we can set up a ton of the little people and knock them over when they aren’t it. We also set up all the vehicles and teach them the different jobs and places the little people go. This helps to teach them about others in the community. They also have special ones that they named after people in their family, their aunt, granma, grandpa, etc.
The point is try to buy toys that you will enjoy playing with too, it just makes it a more fun all around experience.
